Have Fun Baby Shower Scrapbooking
Baby shower scrapbooking is a creative and fun baby shower activity and make a thoughtful and useful gift for the expectant mother. In essence Baby shower scrapbooking is a way for guests to pre-prepare pages for the expectant mother's baby book. The new mom will be too busy being a mom to find enough time to prepare and decorate pages for her book, itmay take months before she has anytime at all to prepare her scrapbook so this will be a significant help to her. When she adds her pictures and memorabilia, mom and baby will have this to treasure forever.
Begin Baby Shower scrapbooking:
First let's gather all the baby shower scrapbooking supplies you will need to start creating:
Album
Album Pages
Scissors
Scrapbook Layout
Embellishments such as; stickers, ribbons chipboards, brads and eyelets, jell pens, markers, baby cut outs and any
other decorative material you might think of.
Let's start scrapbooking:
I suggest using a timeless design for your album since you want to have the book for years to come, anything too extravagant
may be outdated in a few years. Sticking with a simple baby girl or boy theme, if you don't know the sex of the baby
a nice yellow, green or ivory color would be best.
Give each guest a 2 page spread to create in case mom wants to add more than one picture or item to a page.
Make sure that each guest has a layout for what the general theme of the scrapbook should look like. Some
women have a page for different categories such as a page for the hospital, sibling page, grandparents page and so on.
It is very important that you have an idea of what you want the finished project to look like so everyone can create the
page to suit moms needs.
The first page should usually be an introductory page detailing the baby's name, weight, length and so on.
Set up a table so everyone can slip in and decorate their page during the shower or have everyone sit around a table
talking and enjoy each other's company while creating their page.
Some Tips - Make sure you have a trash can to collect any debris left, you don't want to leave too much of a mess for mom to clean up later.
- Most women use 12" by 12" album since these are larger and can hold more pictures, but if mom-to-be is new to scrapbookingor if she just wants to keep it simple an 8" by 8" book is ideal.
- To make it simpler for guests you can purchase albums that has pages already precut and organized with instructions thatare easy for guests to follow. All they have to do is decorate and sign their page.
- Make sure to have at least 12 pages for album one for every month.
- When purchasing album and supplies make sure to get ones labeled archival safe, anything else will deteriorate after a while and may even damage your photos.
